Nothing quite beats a home-baked cake. Cakes are wonderful for any occasion – whether it’s an everyday cake for the kids when they get home from school, a luscious layered gateau to serve as dessert at a dinner party, a three-tiered wedding cake for your special day or an oldfashioned favourite for afternoon tea. And then of course there are cheesecakes – more of a dessert with their creamy, melt-in-the-mouth filling, but a cake nevertheless.
